For Your Amusement
I try to put up something every few days to keep in touch.
Jennifer regularly uses my machine that I have set up to run all the
systems. Tonight I sat down to the computer and I had a large virtual
window. That is the aparent screen was much larger than the physical
screen. I could get to the whole screen by bumping the cursor up
against an edge but this is a pain.
Jennifer is fearless (I have trained her to be so) and can hit any
combination of keys. She is further left handed. So somehow she has
hit some key combination and I can't find how to undo it. Sigh!
Can anyone tell me how to restore my screen. OK, I will try a restart
of the system tomorrow after resetting the terminal type. But to do
this requires a shutdown, and Jennifer normally does not do this. So
how else can the screen size change without a restart?
While on the subject of machine problems, I have trouble wwth run away
repeats. See the ww to theeeeeleft and the eeee The keyboard just
takes off. Hitting a key stops it but then it usually later skips a
letter. This seemed to have shown up with Mandrake 10+ but may also
have arrived with my KVM switch. Sigh!
