Dear Tom,
All Unix I know of, including Solaris and Linuxes, keep the internal
time in UTC format, in facts the number of seconds elapsed from 1970
January 1st at 0:0:0.0 . Only the presentation with date, ls etc. is
done in the local civil time, using the timezone info. If you correct
the time zone, the internal times recorded in "Unix seconds" will
always stay correct and the reading you make now corrected. So I would
not worry, except for the running scripts that use the local time
information, like opening dome etc. though they should really work in
local solar time...
Best regards, Paul
