Subject: Bohdan Paczynski
I was saddened to hear of the death of Bohdan Paczynski. We carried on
a correspondence from the early days of the Mark III project. He bought
the filters for the Mark III's and several CCD442As to get me started on
the Mark IVs. He came out to Batavia to visit my new lab when we
started the Mark IV project and paid for a visit to Princeton. He took
the time to correspond with me and was always encouraging. Even after
his brain cancer had advanced, he dictated replies to my messages
through his wife. We has some little correspondence about our
respective cancers.
He was a wonderful and modest worker, we will miss him.
