I had numerous occasions to interact with Tom during my years at Fermilab and found him to be an extremely knowledgeable and friendly professional.  Years later, when I discovered TASS, I re-established contact with Tom and he and I periodically exchanged emails and ideas.  My interest in Astronomy was rekindled by his vision for TASS.  I will miss him, that vision and his work.
