It's with great, great sadness that I hear this.

I haven't known Tom personally. In addition to the list, I have
corresponded with him during the past two years or so on certain
treatments that, acc. to Tom, have given him some relief.

What's important in this life is undoubtedly not what one has taken
from it but what one has left behind. We're all humbled by his
contribution.
